Claire has worked as a nurse within various hospital environments and then moved into health visiting.
She was a health visitor, community practice teacher and lecturer practitioner before she moved into full-time education. During her teaching career she has worked with pre-registration, postqualification and postgraduate students from various community and acute settings, but her prime interests have always been in relation to community practice.
Patient and client centred care, diversity and cultural competence, public health and caring for people with long-term conditions are her special interests, with a particular emphasis on the importance of compassion and excellent communication skills.
